Alberta teachers are welcome to join the Institute in
Quebec City. Bursary funding is available from the French Language Services Branch of
the Ministry of Learning of Alberta.
The cost of the Institute is $2000 and covers application, tuition, some activities, accommodation
and some meals. Teachers should plan to spend another $300 towards their meals and some
excursions outside Quebec City.
Please note the $300 application fee is non-refundable once you have been
accepted into the program.
Bursaries are taxable revenues (T4A) but tuition is income tax deductible and teachers
will receive an additional deduction (T2202A) for being full-time students during the
three weeks of the program.
Alberta teachers can register for the Institut de Français, UBC à Québec by

The Institut de Français, UBC à Québec offers language and culture classes as well
as a small number of workshops on language teaching methodology.
The curriculum is broad enough to cover both BC and Alberta teaching objectives and
provides a Canadian, student centred, communicative approach that is common to both
provinces.
